Cherries Begin to Ripen Across the State: Get Some at a U-Pick Farm Near You!

That's right, it's time for another fabulous season of delicious Michigan sweet cherries, and, in accordance, the Michigan Department of Agriculture would like to direct you to take advantage of one or more of the many U-Pick farms near you.  Currently (early July),  sweet cherries in the south-west of Michigan are ripening, with the mid and northern areas of the lower peninsula following in the next few weeks. These juicy red beauties go fast, though, so make sure you call the U-Pick farm before you make the trip to ensure they've got enough ripe cherries for your cherry eating appetites!   Just follow this link to the MDA's handy online U-Pick directory database.
