Autumn in Michigan

Autumn in Michigan is Back and it's Better than Ever!

Pumpkins, corn mazes, multi-colored leaves, apple cider and donuts; these simple words are what tells everyone that fall has finally arrived in Michigan! For some, fall is the best time of the year because there is much to do and see. Don't believe it? Take a look:

During September and October Michigan farm markets are loaded with lots of fresh produce ready to be picked and eaten. These delicious foods include apples, grapes, pears, rutabagas and of course, pumpkins and cider. Visit our Produce Availability Calendar to find out what else is ripe for the picking.

http://www.cornfieldmaze.com/Who can resist the cornfields that have been picked to stump all of those who dare set foot in them? Corn mazes are fun for all ages; and equally challenging for everyone! You can find the closest Michigan U-Pick farm, Cider Mill, or Corn Maze by visiting our frequently updated U-Pick database page. But what's a good supply of fruit without an awesome recipe to go with it? After visiting one of many Michigan farms or Farmers' Markets, have a look on our website for tons of delicious recipes! You can make hot spiced apple cider, chocolate chip pumpkin bread, the perfect apple butter and lots more.

For those adults who want to spend some quality time together without the kids, there is plenty for you to do, too! Fall Wine Festivals are in season. Get ready to spoil your tastebuds with some of the best tasting champagne and wine around. There are plenty of places to go, find one nearest you by following this link to our Wine Festivals page. For more Michigan Wine information, visit the Michigan Grape & Wine Industry's website.

Whether you are a kid ready to go on some hayrides and pick the perfect pumpkin or an adult who needs some relaxation, Michigan Agriculture in the autumn has something to accommodate everyone! But don't wait too long because before you know it the first snow will be falling and all the fun fall season doings will be over. So hurry and enjoy Michigan in the fall!
