LANSING - The Michigan Commission of Agriculture today announced that seven applicants are seeking the Michigan Department of Agriculture Director position.
The list of applicants, except one who requested confidentiality, is as follows:
- Jamie Clover Adams
- Jeffrey G. Pung
- Berri K. Meyers
- Donald W. Koivisto
- James McBryde
- Donald L. Plummer
Candidates will be interviewed during a special session of the Commission of Agriculture on Monday, August 13, 2007. The interviews will begin at 10 a.m. in the Governor’s Room at the Lansing Center, 333 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI 48933. The meeting is open to the public.
It is the intention of the Commission to finalize their decision on the 13th.
The Michigan Commission of Agriculture is a bipartisan body appointed by the Governor to provide oversight and policy direction for MDA programs; appoint the director of agriculture; and approve the rules and regulations the department promulgates.
