Ducks Unlimited/CREP Projects Saginaw Bay Watershed

Arenac County

  • Approximately 14 acres of wetland restoration and shallow water areas for wildlife.

  • Approximately 21 acres of wetland restoration and shallow water areas for wildlife.

Clare County

  • Construction of 4 low-level embankments and excavation of 2 shallow water areas for wildlife.


Genesee County

  • Two shallow water areas for wildlife encompassing 2.5 acres of hydric soil.

  • Approximately 5 acres of shallow water areas for wildlife (with 3 separate shallow ponds).

  • Installation of a low-level embankment and a 3-acre shallow water area for wildlife.

Huron County

  • Construction a low-level embankment and shallow water excavation to enhance approximately 5 acres of wetland area. Fall dormant seeding of approximately 20 acres of native warm season grass and wildflower mixture.

Isabella County

  • Construction of 3 low-level embankments and one shallow water excavation to restore approximately 11 acres of wetland habitat.

  • Constructed 4 low-level embankments to restore wetland hydrology to drained wetland areas.  Excavated approximately 3 acres of shallow water areas for wildlife.  Planted approximately 30 acres of native prairie.


Saginaw County

  • Approximately 25 acres of wetland restoration involving tile breaks and low-level berms.


Tuscola County

  • 140 acre wetland restoration and shallow water ponds. Will include the installation of a low-level embankment and a water control structure.

  • Approximately 2 acres of wetland restoration. Will include 2 ponds and several drainage tile breaks to restore hydrology.

  • 13 acres of wetland restoration and shallow water areas for wildlife.

  • 5 acres of wetland restoration involving a low-level embankment to restore hydrology.

  • Excavation of 2 acres of shallow water area for wildlife and 52 acres of wetland restoration including native warm season grass and wildflower planting.

  • Construction of 2 low-level embankments to restore wetland hydrology and planting of a native prairie buffer on a 23-acre farm field.

  • Construction of a low-level embankment and excavation of a 2-acre shallow water area for wildlife. An upland buffer approximately 10 acres is size was planted to native prairie.

  • Approximately 3.5 acres of shallow areas for wildlife and 118 acres of wetland restoration. This project includes a seeding of native warm season grass and wildflower mixture.
