MPR Indicator Guide Changes (formerly known as the “Guidance Document”)
In early 2006 the MPR Workgroup recommended and the Standards Review Committee approved minor changes for MPR 7, 8, and MPR 20 that will take effect for Cycle 3, Year 2, reviews which begin in February 2007.
MPR 7
To increase the focus on risk factors, the field worksheet now divides the violations into:
- Risk Factor Criticals
- Other Criticals, and
- Non-Criticals.
It was necessary to split the previous time/temperature category into two risk factor categories, creating 15 in place of 14 critical categories. This will not cause any changes in agency ratings.
MPR 8
MPR 8 had always been reported in as “% in non-compliance”, but will now be reported as “% in compliance”, to be consistent with the rest of the MPR Guide.
There was also a missing gap where 41% thru 59% of non-critical violations had no rating specified. This gap will now be rated as Met With Conditions.
MPR 20
Two changes were made to MPR 20. The first change only updates the old foodborne illness reporting memo to the new memo of February 3, 2006. The other change is language to assist agencies that choose to use ReportFoodPoisoning.com.
