FPIA Board Members

The Michigan Farm Produce Insurance Authority, created by P.A. 198 of 2003, is a nine-member (seven voting) board, representing farmers and grain, feed and banking interests, and has the responsibility of establishing, administering and promoting the fund. MDARD Director Keith Creagh chairs the board, and is a non-voting member. The department has auditing and regulatory oversight responsibilities at grain elevators in Michigan. Other members below include:

  • Scott Miller, Vice Chair, Elsie, representing Corn Producers;
  • Arthur A. Loeffler (non-voting member), Frankenmuth, representing Grain Licensees;
  • Lyle LeCronier, Freeland, representing Soybean Producers;
  • Carmen Cousino, Temperance, representing General Farm interests;
  • Paul Koeman, Hamilton, representing General Farm interests;
  • Derek LeCronier, Freeland, representing General Farm interests;
  • Mark Stoeckle, Treasurer, Cass City, representing Agricultural Lenders;
  • Gene Van Driessche (not pictured), Bay City, representing Dry Bean Producers
