This procedure outlines the steps necessary for a Michigan Registered Serviceperson to update their card following a change of employment.
History:
Service registration cards are issued in the name of the technician and remains in their name as long as they are determined to be in “good standing” and continue to renew their registration as required by law. When a technician moves from one registered agency to another, the only requirement is to ensure the information on the card is updated.
Procedure:
1) The “card-holder” or the “new” employer must contact the office via phone and identify the need to update the agency name.
2) The "old" card must be mailed to or delivered in person to the Weights and Measures Program at 940 Venture Lane, Williamston, MI 48895
3) Once the card has been received a new card will be issued and mailed directly to the technician.
4) The registration remains in effect through the original expiration date.
