New World Camelids (Llamas, Alpacas, Vicuna and Guanaco)

  1. An official interstate health certificate or official certificate of veterinary inspection shall accompany all New World camelids* imported into Michigan.

    Note: All New World Camelids must be officially individually identified by ear tag, tattoo, or registration number (breed registry). The individual identification must be recorded on the health certificate.

  2. As of 2003, brucellosis testing is waived on the import of all New World Camelids.

*Camels are NOT New World Camelids.
