The Michigan Department of Career Development (MDCD) today announced the award of $1,159,726 in Workforce Investment Act–National Emergency Grant (WIA-NEG) funding for Trade Adjustment Assistance and North American Free Trade Agreement–Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA & NAFTA-TAA) programs to 12 Michigan Works! agencies. The funding will be used to provide training, job search assistance, and relocation assistance to workers whose jobs were determined by the U.S. Department of Labor to have been lost due to foreign competition.
The MDCD’s Workforce Transition Section administers the Trade Act programs for the U.S. Department of Labor.
