CLEG is staffed by a full-time core team within the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth, Bureau of Workforce Transformation.  The Unit is responsible for providing administrative, operational, and technical support to the Council, delivering a high level of professional events planning, logistics coordination, agenda development, and facilitation.

In addition to staffing the Council, the Unit is also responsible for certification of the Michigan Works! Service Centers that operate statewide, and certification of the 25 local Workforce Development Boards, Youth Councils, and Education Advisory Groups.
