Homeless Veterans and Stand Down Events

While the number of homeless veterans is hard to gauge, the VA's rough estimate of homeless veterans is well over 100,000 on any given day.  If you are a homeless veteran, a veteran at risk of becoming homeless or are someone who knows a veteran in those situations, the links below can provide information that you can use to seek help.

Stand Down events are organized events at the national, state and local levels to help provide outreach services to homeless veterans.  The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans has a listing of nationwide Stand Down events located here.  There is also a Stand Down event scheduled for Detroit that is being put on by a local charity organization, Southeastern Michigan Veterans Stand Down Inc. that is not listed on the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans calendar.
