Alpena Office: Located in the Michigan Works! Service Center on the corner of Chisholm Street (U.S. 23) and Fifth Street. Ample parking is available.

From M-32: Continue on M-32 (Washington Avenue) to Second Avenue. Turn left onto Second Avenue. Turn left at the light (Chisholm Street). Three blocks to the corner of Chisholm Street and Fifth Street.

The Alpena Office is part of the Northern Michigan District, which serves the 21 counties in Northern Lower Michigan. We have a number of satellite locations that we cover in a variety of ways. Professional staff travel to these and many other locations on a regular basis to better meet the needs of our individual customers. Covering this much territory is a real challenge, but we feel it is extremely important to meet with customers in their local communities. Personal schedules are posted at business locations and it is always best to call ahead. 

We have agreements with all of the school districts, Community Mental Health Boards, and numerous community agencies in the 21 county catchment area. As a district we cover the following counties: Emmet, Charlevoix, Antrim, Leelanau, Benzie, Manistee, Grand Traverse, Wexford, Kalkaska, Missaukee, Cheboygan, Otsego, Crawford, Roscommon, Presque Isle, Montmorency, Oscoda, Ogemaw, Alpena, Alcona and Iosco.
