MRS and the Michigan Works! Service Centers

Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) has one or more rehabilitation counselors at every Michigan Works! Service Center in the state.

The Michigan Works! Service Centers hold a number of advantages for people with disabilities. These include:

  • Easy access to a variety of service agencies in a barrier-free building
  • The potential for appointments with two or more agencies on the same day to save time and transportation costs
  • Opportunities for cooperative planning by the personnel of several agencies
  • The expansion of job placement resources

The presence of Michigan Rehabilitation Services at Michigan Works! Service Centers serves to heighten the disability knowledge and sensitivity of partner agencies. MRS staff also advocate for barrier-free facilities, reasonable accommodations, and architectural standards for individual offices that ensure customer confidentiality.

Michigan Rehabilitation Services believes dialogue is the key to the success of Michigan Works! Service Centers. Partners need to minimize turf issues and ensure customer service and, ultimately, customer satisfaction.

Michigan Works! Service Centers must be accessible, user friendly, and bring about a positive result for the customer: A good job with benefits.
