County Allocations List for the Qualified Energy Conservation Bond Program PDF icon
The following Michigan counties and cities recently were notified of their federally funded bond allocations for their potential use in promoting energy efficiency, renewable energy, green communities, energy related pilot projects/education/promotion and more. Please see the following list and see if your community is included based upon the population based federal formula used. If so, please contact your local governmental administrative offices and see if they plan to utilize any or all of their funding allocation.

Energy Efficiency Student Internship Program (EESIP) Request for Proposals  PDF icon
Up to three grants at $20,000 each are available to Michigan institutions of higher learning to support junior and senior undergraduate engineering students to implement innovative but commercially available energy efficient technologies in small and medium sized businesses. Projects must be transferable and will serve as demonstrations to be shared with other businesses or industries. Proposals must be received no later than 4 p.m. on May 15, 2012.
Industrial Energy Efficient Technology Demonstration Grants  PDF icon
The Michigan Energy Office (MEO) is offering businesses, currently located in Michigan, matching grants for projects that will demonstrate innovative industrial energy efficient technologies not yet widely adopted in Michigan. The purpose for the Industrial Energy Efficient Technology Demonstration grant program is to drive adoption of these innovative technologies by industry and others in Michigan through real world demonstrations and in-depth documentation and information outreach. Proposals are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6th, 2012.
Biomass Energy Program Workshop Assistance PDF icon
The purpose of this funding opportunity is to assist workshops or events that increase awareness of energy or fuel derived from Michigan biomass resources within a target audience. The maximum award for each workshop or event is $2,500; a 25% minimum match is required. MBEP Workshop and Event funds will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis for applications that best meet the stated criteria, until all designated funds are distributed. All workshops/events must take place in Michigan and occur between December 1, 2011 and August 30, 2012.  Please see the application guidelines for more details.
Michigan Energy Demonstration Centers
The Michigan Energy Office currently supports nine "Michigan Energy Demonstration Centers" located throughout the State. The Michigan Energy Demonstration Centers promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, green building and sustainable living solutions for Michigan residents and businesses.
More about the Michigan Energy Office
Program activities are designed to encourage the use of new technologies and alternative fuels in buildings, industrial processes,
vehicles and in power generation. Program objectives are advanced through a variety of services, including information dissemination, technical assistance, financial assistance and demonstration projects. The primary funding source for Michigan Energy Office (MEO) activities is the U.S. Department of Energy. The MEO operates within the Michigan Strategic Fund, a unit of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC).
