 Michigan Cardiovascular Alliance:
Experts in cardiovascular disease were convened to provide guidance and collaborate on developing a burden document and strategic plan. Partners identified strategies, emerging issues and best practices to inform planning and implementation of projects for the control of cardiovascular disease in Michigan.

 Hypertension Expert Group:
Experts in hypertension convened by MDCH and the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan to make recommendations to MDCH and partners on how to improve high blood pressure control in Michigan residents.  This group is developing a model curriculum for educating health professinals in High Blood Pressure, Diagnosis, Treatment and Control.  They also launched the "Let's Talk Three" campaign, a patient and professional education program.  See the following links for more information:

 Michigan Fruit and Vegetable Coalition:
The Michigan Fruit and Vegetable Nutrition Coalition (formerly known as the Michigan 5 A Day Coalition) meets quarterly in the Greater Lansing area. This group of nutrition and public health professionals share information and resources promoting the consumption of and access to fruits and vegetables in a variety of venues. Healthy Weight Partnership (HWP) :
The Michigan Healthy Weight Partnership was established for the purpose of overseeing the implementation and evaluation of Michigan's obesity state plan.  Members include over 50 state, local, public and private organizations who assisted with the creation of the state plan and/or whose organizations are actively engaged in completing activities consistent with the state plan's objectives.

  Michigan Stroke Initiative: 
An advisory group convened in 1997 by MDCH to develop and implement a state plan for improving stroke care in Michigan. For specific information on membership, activities and future meetings see

  Healthy Kids, Healthy Michigan:
