a. Up to 10 hours of the 45 required may be earned through completion of online computer programs pertaining to social work if they have been approved by ACE or the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative.
b. Academic courses related to social work practice from a college or university that has an accredited social work program can also be used for continuing education credits. The rule is 5 contact hours for each semester credit earned or 3 contact hours for each quarter credit earned.
c. A maximum of 10 continuing education contact hours can be earned in each renewal cycle for publishing an article or chapter in a social work journal or textbook related to the practice of social work.
d. For each 60 minute presentation of a CE program that is not a part of your regular job description, 3 continuing education hours can be earned up to a maximum of 15 hours per licensure cycle.
