In order to take these examinations and become licensed in Michigan, an applicant must submit an application to the Department of Community Health, Bureau of Health Professions. Application packets can be downloaded from this website or email us at bhpinfo@michigan.govor call (517) 335-0918 and at the prompts choose 2, 1 and 1 and leave a voicemail message with details of your request.

To be eligible for the examination, the application, fee and required documentation must be received in the Application Section, Bureau of Health Professions by the deadline date indicated below. Please mail to:

Also, an applicant must have graduated from an AVMA approved program for training veterinary technicians.

The Bureau of Health Professions will mail out an admission letter to eligible candidates approximately 10 to 14 days before the exams. The admission letter will include information on the location and time of the exams along with a map, a brochure and any additional information needed.

Results are reported approximately 8-10 weeks following the examination date.
