Radiation machine registration renewals and new registrations can now be completed online.
Go to www.michigan.gov/rss and click on "Online Renewals and Registration" for instructions.
The Michigan Department of Community Health requires that all online payments be made through the Department's Single Sign On server. In order to make registration payments online, a user must first register with Single Sign On and then subscribe to the Radiation Safety Section Online Registration System. Detailed instructions for these steps are available at the link above.
Renewal notices for existing facilities will be generated and sent via regular mail as we have always done. Renewals are mailed six to eight weeks prior to registration expiration. To renew online, the user will need the invoice number which is printed on the renewal notice. Any change to your registration can be made at the time of renewal. Of course, payment can still be made by sending a check in the mail.
New registrations are for a new facility that previously had no x-ray machines or an existing facility that has undergone a change of ownership. A facility that wishes to add or delete an x-ray machine from an existing certificate may contact the Radiation Safety Section at (517) 241-1989 or fax a copy of the current certificate with machine changes to (517) 241-1981 or send the changes via e-mail to rssinfo@michigan.gov.
