The nonmammography patient exposure graphs on the Radiation Safety Section website have been updated to include data from 2002 through 2006, and the mammography dose graph has been updated to data from 2006. Nonmammography inspection frequency is about every 5 years, and mammography facilities are inspected annually.

The dental bitewing graphs were changed this year to now include D speed film, E/F speed film, and digital imaging on one graph.

We continue to see an increase in the number of digital systems in all categories. Except for dental, the mean exposure for digital is slightly higher than or comparable to the mean exposure for screen film.
