Comment Period on Informal, In-house Draft of Rules Ends (posted 8/3/2005)

The comment period for the informal, in-house, rough draft revision of the Ionizing Radiation Rules Governing the Use of Radiation Machines has ended. The comment period was announced on April 29, 2005 and ended August 1, 2005.

One of areas we requested comment on was whether or not the Rules should be updated. We received no comments opposing the updating of the Rules. Therefore, we will now consider the comments received and begin the formal rules promulgation process. That process includes a provision for public comments.

Although the comment period has ended, we may still consider comments as we work to finalize a draft that will begin the rules promulgation process. Comments or questions on the proposed Rules revisions can be addressed to:
