Flu Advisory Board

Flu Vaccine Campaign Slogan

The purpose of the Flu Advisory Board is to enhance communication during the flu season by deploying appropriate resources in a timely manner and making rapid decisions about flu vaccine supply.  FAB is committed to controlling disease outbreaks and communicating effectively during urgent situations.

Facts about FAB:

  • Comprised of nearly 100 members representing public and private health
  • Formed in 2005 as an Extension of MI Advisory Committee on Immunizations (MACI)
  • Member organizations from nurse associations, health systems, health plans, private medical practice, health advocacy groups, and local public health departments

FAB Meetings:

FAB meets face-to-face on a quarterly basis, with occasional conference calls in between face-to-face meetings.

Attention FAB Members: Remember to use the Influenza Vaccine Exchange Network (IVEN), a tool to facilitate redistribution of influenza vaccine, should shortages occur. IVEN is for privately purchased flu vaccine only.
