The Education Grants Section and Law Enforcement Section of BSAAS, formally also known as the Office of Drug Control Policy, have been transferred from the Department of Community Health to other state departments, see below for more details.
Effective October 26, 2009, administration for Title IV, Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act (SDFSCA), School Formula Grants and Governor's Discretionary Grants transferred to the Department of Education, per Executive Order 2009-42.

Effective October 26, 2009, administration for the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (Byrne JAG), the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for State Prisoners Grant, and the Paul Coverdell Forensic Science Improvement Act transferred to the Department of State Police, Budget and Financial Services Division, per Executive Order 2009-42. In addition, the new Grants Management Section also spearheads the Michigan Methamphetamine Control Strategy and the State Methamphetamine Task Force.
