The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has summarily suspended the license practical nurse license of Deanna Kay Muz, L.P.N. based on her felony conviction in the 18th Judicial Circuit Court of Bay County, Michigan.
On February 3, 2005, Muz was convicted of Arson-Real Property, a felony. As a result, Muz was sentenced to jail for 180 days, ordered to pay costs in the amount of $120.00, restitution in the amount of $71,402.81, and was placed on probation for a period of five years with terms.
On May 6, 2005, MDCH issued an order immediately suspending Muz’s license pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional’s license upon the conviction of a felony. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Muz’s licensed practical nurse license.
