FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 8, 2005
The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has summarily suspended the registered nurse license of Larry T. Sabin, R.N., based on his misdemeanor convictions in the 23rd Judicial Circuit Court, Arenac County. Sabin failed to report his convictions to MDCH as required by the Public Health Code.
On March 10, 2005, Sabin was convicted of two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct-Fourth Degree, a misdemeanor. As a result, Sabin was sentenced to 12 months in jail with one day credit, ordered to pay fines and costs totaling $980, and placed on probation for 48 months with terms.
On June 22, 2005, MDCH issued an order immediately suspending Sabin’s license pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional’s license upon the conviction of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for a maximum term of two years. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Sabin’s registered nurse license.
