The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has summarily suspended the osteopathic physician license of Henry V. Larabee, D.O. The MDCH Bureau of Health Professions orders a summary suspension when it believes that the public’s health, safety, and welfare warrant emergency action.
While employed as a physician at a private practice office, Larabee willingly participated in a scheme involving the inappropriate prescribing of controlled substances for financial gain. In April 2005, Larabee voluntarily surrendered his federal drug control registration to the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.
On September 23, 2005, MDCH issued an order immediately suspending Larabee’s osteopathic physician license. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Larabee’s license.
