The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has summarily suspended the nursing home administrator license of Salvatore D. Benisatto, N.H.A., due to his felony conviction in the Circuit Court for the County of Ingham.

Benisatto failed to report his conviction to MDCH as required by the Public Health Code.

On June 10, 2003, Benisatto pled no contest to healthcare fraud. Benisatto was placed on probation for a period of four years and ordered to pay fines, costs, restitution, and fees totaling $94,120.00.

On March 11, 2004, MDCH issued an order summarily suspending Benisatto’s license pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional upon the conviction of a felony. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Benisatto’s license.
