The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has summarily suspended the psychologist license of Frank Veliz, PH.D., C.S.W., due to his January 22, 2004 felony convictions in the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court, Oakland County, Michigan.
Veliz pled no contest to one count of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and two counts of Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct. He received a 10 to 30 year prison term.
On June 28, 2004, MDCH issued an order immediately suspending Veliz’s license pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health care professional’s license upon the conviction of a felony. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Veliz’s psychologist license.
