Bishop was also required to complete inpatient substance abuse treatment and ordered to pay fines, costs and restitution totaling $1,230.00.
A review of Bishop’s criminal record by MDCH revealed alcohol-related misdemeanor convictions of May 6, 1996 and January 24, 1997. Bishop failed to disclose these convictions on his application for social work technician registration.
On July 21, 2004, MDCH issued an order immediately suspending Bishop’s registration pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional’s license upon the conviction of a felony. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Bishop’s social work technician registration.
