    Mission:

    To improve the health and wellbeing of Michigan citizens by promoting safe and healthy home environments through comprehensive home-based intervention programs, lead certification and regulations, public education and outreach, and statewide partnerships.

    Healthy Homes and Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (HHLPPP)

    Functions of HHLPPP include screening, statewide surveillance, follow-up of identified lead poisoned children, extensive public and professional education, primary prevention to reduce lead hazards before families are poisoned, and outreach efforts to identify adults occupationally exposed in an effort to prevent "take home lead."     Lead Laboratory 

    Learn more about the State lead laboratory.

    The Trace Metals/Lead Laboratory is nationally accredited to perform laboratory analysis of lead in blood, paint chips, soil and dust.
