Athletic Services Providers Act (MCL 333.26301-26306)
Public Act 31 of 1990, as amended, describes required androgenic anabolic steroid warning notices be posted in educational institutions and recreational athletic facility locker rooms. It also notes the Department of Community Health (section 333.26301(b)) shall produce/provide warning posters (section 333.26304).

Bingo Act (MCL 432.101-120)
Public Act 382 of 1972, as amended, regulates the conducting of bingo, millionaire parties, and certain other forms of gambling; and provides for the conducting of charity games, raffles, and numeral games.

Compulsive Gaming Prevention Act (MCL 432.251-256)
Public Act 70 of 1997, as amended, creates a "compulsive gaming prevention fund." It details its creation; disposition; distributions; investment; credit of interest and earnings; lapsed funds and fees for addiction treatment.

General Property Tax Act [PA2 Funds] (MCL 211.24e(11))
Public Act 206 of 1893, Section 24e, Paragraph 11, as amended, directs, under specified circumstances, that a portion of each county's state convention facility development fund revenue be distributed for substance abuse prevention and treatment programs within the county. Proceeds are known as PA2 Funds. (Portions of PA 206 of 1893 were amended by PA 2 of 1986.)

Horse Racing Law (MCL 431.309a, 431.320(14))
Sections of Public Act 279 of 1995, as amended, mandates posting of problem gambling help-line information at each racetrack entrance and exit, where wagers are accepted, and on all advertisement and promotional materials; and mandates a portion of the agriculture equine industry development fund be deposited in the compulsive gaming prevention fund. (Portions of PA 279 of 1995 were amended by PA 73 of 1997.)

Lottery Act (MCL 432.16, 432.41(4), 432.43)
Sections of Public Act 239 of 1972, as amended, mandates posting of problem gambling help-line information on lottery tickets, printed advertisements, promotional materials and at locations where lottery tickets are sold; and mandates a portion of the lottery advertising budget be deposited in the compulsive gaming prevention fund. Public Act 501 of 2012Legislation to amend PA 368 of 1978, in order to merge mental health and substance abuse services.
Revised School Code, Excerpt: Performance-enhancing Substances (MCL 380.1318)
Public Act 451 of 1976, Section 1318, as amended, instructs the Department of Community Health (MCL 380.1318(2)) to provide school districts, academies, and schools a list of performance-enhancing substances, in alignment with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Bylaw 31.2.3.4 Banned Drugs.
BSAAS recommends the following classes of drugs (and any substance chemically related to these classes) be banned:
a. Stimulants
b. Anabolic Agents
c. Alcohol and Beta Blockers
d. Diuretic and Other Masking Agents
e. Street Drugs
f. Peptide Hormones and Analogues
g. Anti-estrogens
h. Beta-2 Agonists
Although there is no complete list of banned drugs, a listing of some drugs within each classification outlined above is available on the NCAA drug testing website at www.ncaa.org/drugtesting. The institutions and the student-athlete should be held accountable for all drugs within the banned drug class regardless of whether they have been specifically identified. Student-athletes should check with their athletic department staff before consuming any medication or supplement.

Youth Tobacco Act (MCL 722.641-645)
Public Act 31 of 1915, as amended, prohibits both the purchase of tobacco products by a minor under 18 years of age and the provision of tobacco products to a minor, as well as the presentation of a false or fraudulent proof of age. Furthermore, it prohibits the use of tobacco products by minors and the harboring of minors for the purpose of indulging in the use of tobacco products. This law does permit youth to participate in compliance checks for the purpose of satisfying federal Substance Abuse Block Grant Youth Tobacco Access requirements when these checks are conducted under the direction of a Substance Abuse Coordinating Agency and with the prior approval of the State Police or a local policing agency. Finally, the law prescribes penalties for transgressions by both those who furnish and those youth who use tobacco products. (Last amendment effective 9/1/2006)

Controlled Substance Act (Control and Enforcement) (21 USC 13 § § 801-904)
U. S. Public Law 91-513, October 1970, 84 Stat.1236, is the legal foundation of the government's fight against abuse of drugs and other substances. It is a consolidation of many laws regulating the manufacture and distribution of narcotics, stimulants, depressants, hallucinogens, steroids and chemicals used in the illicit production of controlled substances. Particularly, is designed to limit and control access to drugs, and allows for finer control of substances through their placement in categories according to their medicinal value, harmfulness, and potential for abuse or addiction.
