    Early Intervention

    Goal 3:

All infants identified with hearing loss will receive early intervention services no later than 6 months of age. Services include: audiology, education, medical, communication training and family support.

Different professionals can help with early intervention services based on the family's needs and  child's eligibility . Many families choose Early On Ò   Michigan to help with family-centered coordinated services.  Services may be provided in the family's home or professional offices after a hearing loss is found.  Early intervention is important to help each child develop communication and to give families information.

Children's Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) is a program within the Michigan Department of Community Health.  It is for children with special health care needs and their families.  The program can help with referral and financial assistance for specialty services and support for primary caretakers.  For more information call the CSHCS Family Phone Line at 1-800-359-3722 or visit their webpage.
