Practice Sun Safety

<ul><li>Fun in the sun is always a summertime favorite, but make sure you take care of your skin.</li> <li>My name is Janet Olszewski and I am the Director of the Michigan Department of Community Health.</li> <li>Over exposure to the sun can cause heat exhaustion, sunburn, skin cancer, and wrinkles.</li> <li>There are ways to protect yourself from overexposure and still enjoy the warm weather.</li> <li>If you are going to be in the sun, wear sun block, sunglasses with complete UV protection and hats to shield your face and eyes.</li> <li>Also, relax in the shade and be sure to stay hydrated with plenty of water.</li> <li>For more tips on sun safety and effects of sun exposure speak with your doctor or visit our Web site at <a href="/mdch">www.michigan.gov/mdch.</a></li></ul> Michigan Department of Community Health Director Janet Olszewski discusses the importance of practicing sun safety this summer.
