Engler Appoints Kordenbrock Executive Director of Michigan Women's Commission

Governor John Engler today announced the appointment of Jean Kordenbrock as executive director of the Michigan Women's Commission, effective Oct. 22. The Commission works to improve the quality of life for women in the state.

"I'm pleased to appoint Jean Kordenbrock as executive director of the Michigan Women's Commission," said Governor Engler. "With extensive knowledge and background on legislative issues, Jean will serve the women of Michigan well."

Kordenbrock, of Meridian Township, is the assistant to Senate Majority Floor Leader Joanne Emmons. Previously, she was an attorney with Gallagher Duby, PLC, and also worked for Senate Majority Leader Dan DeGrow and Governor Engler.

Kordenbrock earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Michigan in 1991 and a juris doctor degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1996. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, serves on the Ronald McDonald House of Mid Michigan Communications Committee and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Lansing.
