Meetings: August 5, 2013, 2 p.m., Saugatuck Center for the Arts, Saugatuck and October 21, 2013, 2 p.m. (TBD). The Michigan Women's Commission (MWC) was statutorily created in 1968 with the mission of improving the lives of Michigan women. Throughout its 44 year history, the MWC has worked on many issues, and its current priorities are women in business, women veterans and human trafficking.The MWC also serves as a referral agency for Michigan women and helps them navigate federal, state and local resources. We tweet under the handle @MIWomensComm, post on Facebook as  Michigan-Womens-Commission and e-publish information on a variety of topics. We are a partner in the yearly "Young Women, Strong Leaders" conferences. Commission meetings are held quarterly, and the location rotates throughout the state. Join us at an upcoming meeting: Monday, April 15, 2013, 2 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Lansing, 111 N. Grand Ave., 48933; Monday, August 5, 2013, 2 p.m. (Location TBD) and Monday, October 21, 2013, 2 p.m. (Location TBD).
