PROPOSED CHANGES TO REGULATION 3.12, RETURN-TO-WORK
TRIAL APPOINTMENTS
|
Proposed amendments to Civil Service Regulation 3.12, Return-To-Work Trial
Appointments, are being circulated for review and comment.
|
Recommended changes to this regulation clarify Civil Service processes for determining
qualifications and authorizing appointments of employees, currently receiving Workers'
Compensation or Long-term Disability benefits, in their return to active state
employment. Standard D is specific in that trial work experience may serve as an
alternate for certain Civil Service classifications for which an examination is typically
required. The regulation further addresses the need for satisfactory completion of a
probationary period for purposes of continued employment.
Written comments regarding the proposed amendments may be sent to Janine Winters,
Deputy Director, Department of Civil Service, P.O. Box 30002, Lansing, Michigan
48909. Comments must be received by June 13, 2008.
