Exercise Is Still On

Working On Wellness Fitness                                                                      March 2006

Exercise is Still On!

It may surprise you just how easy it is to gain a pound or two, or ten!   Then, once you've gained way more than you wanted, it may again surprise you how difficult it is to get rid of it!!

winter hike graphicThe verdict is out against dieting. But physical activity is still "on". Make a pact with yourself to move continuously for at least 30 minutes a day, or for 10 minutes 3 times a day. . . just one step at a time. Taking the time to "just do it" may seem a challenge. Never-the-less, give it a try then just keep doing it again and again until it's a habit. Go for subtle changes that can be maintained over a lifetime.

American Diabetes
Alert Day

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) takes "alert day" as an opportunity to help identify the undiagnosed and those at risk for diabetes, by educating people about risk factors and warning signs of the disease.  Diabetes can be managed by a good exercise and healthy diet regimen, along with proper medication when necessary.

If you are at risk for diabetes, learn more about what you can do to prevent devastating complications of the disease.
