MiCSC - State of Michigan Internship Program (SOMIP)

The State of Michigan Internship Program allows students from a college or university the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge and concepts to the work setting of State Government. An internship is a carefully monitored work experience in which a student has intentional learning goals and reflects on what he/she is learning throughout their tenure. These unpaid experiences are available throughout the upper and lower peninsula and typically range from three to four months in length. Student advantages of the State of Michigan Internship Program include the opportunity to: explore & sample career opportunities, develop and strengthen transferable skills, interact and collaborate with industry experts, translate classroom knowledge into work environment, build experience & network, receive academic credit, and place your mark on Michigan government.

APPLICATION PROCESS
To apply for an internship with the State of Michigan, please attach your cover letter, résumé, and academic history when submitting the internship application to MCSC-CareerServices@michigan.gov or 517-373-7690 (fax).
