REGULATION 3.14, STATE TRANSITIONAL POSITION DESIGNATION AND APPOINTMENTS |
Regulation 3.14, State Transitional Position Designation and Appointments, issued with an effective date of November 19, 2006, includes some language that mistakenly contradicts language related to probationary periods as established in Regulation 2.06, Conducting Employee Ratings. Therefore, Standard A, number 7, of Regulation 3.14, has been revised to reflect that an employee with status who is appointed to a position designated as transitional at a new classification may be required to complete a probationary period at the discretion of the appointing authority.
In addition, minor clarifying language has been added to Standard C. The new language requires an employee classified in the Senior Executive Management Assistant Service (SEMAS) to possess an equivalent of six months full-time experience as a SEMA in order to be eligible for appointment to a professional position designated as transitional.
In accordance with Standard 4(C) of Regulation 1.01, Issuance of Civil Service Regulations, this regulation is being issued with an effective date of April 8, 2007.
Questions regarding this regulation should be directed to Janet McClelland, Chief Deputy Director, Department of Civil Service, P.O. Box 30002, Lansing, Michigan 48909.
