Atypical Experiential and Education Requirements

The vast majority of classifications permit reclassification of an employee from one level to the next within the classification at one-year intervals, providing the employee has a current satisfactory rating on file and is satisfactorily performing the work at the respective higher level.

However, there are a number of classifications that deviate from the typical experiential requirement and may require two or more years of additional experience, a higher level of educational attainment, or additional, necessary special requirements.

The attached listing identifies those classifications that contain atypical experience and/or education requirements for reclassification purposes. The intent of this listing is to provide an easy means by which appointing authorities and Civil Service staff can ensure that individuals satisfy the minimum experiential and educational requirements before reclassification actions are taken.
