Jeremy S. Stephens was appointed by the Civil Service Commission in 2009 to serve as the State Personnel Director. Throughout his career, Mr. Stephens has been responsible for negotiating labor contracts, managing employee relations programs, training and development, and compensation. He has managed multiple facilities worldwide including facilities in Mexico, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Thailand, China and Singapore.
State Personnel Director Stephens oversees the delivery of human resource services to all executive branch state departments and agencies covering over 50,000 classified state employees.
Mr. Stephens currently serves as a member of the Governor's Cabinet, was appointed by the Governor to the Michigan Corrections Officer Training Council, serves on the Equal Opportunity Diversity Council and is an Ex-Officio to the Michigan Women's Commission and the State Board of Ethics.
Mr. Stephens possesses a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
