Program Overview

The State of Michigan Internship Program provides a wonderful opportunity for students to gain real world experience with the largest employer in Michigan. The state of Michigan has multiple departmentsjobs/internships and locations to choose from.  All majors are welcome to apply.  We believe that State of Michigan interns are making it real, making it happen and making a difference!


Our mission is to assist students during college in their preparation for career success.  We embrace collaboration with academic institutions and state departments to provide students with valuable internships that are engaging real world work and classroom learning.  The State of Michigan is building the next generation of Michigan's government and community leaders.


Student advantages of the State of Michigan Internship Program include the opportunity to: explore and sample career opportunities, develop and strengthen transferable skills, interact and collaborate with industry experts, translate classroom knowledge into work environment, build experience and network, and receive academic credit while making a difference in Michigan government.

Internship offers will be contingent upon completion of a successful background check and submission of official or unofficial college transcripts.

Fall (September - December) 
Winter/Spring (January - April)
Summer (May - August)
