Student Rights

Who to Call?

The mission of the Student Issues Ombudsman Unit is to help parents, students and the community resolve school-related problems for students in grades K-12. The objectives are to provide information and counsel which may involve rights and available options, applicable laws, and suggestions on procedure, to provide materials related to issue--the Department publishes documents on many aspects of education and these materials are provided where appropriate, and to make referrals to other agencies which may be able to provide direct assistance.
