The Library of Michigan maintains a large collection of resources that relate to Irish genealogical research. Titles may be located by searching ANSWER, the Library's online catalog. Clicking the links in this publication will take you directly to the ANSWER search or to the ANSWER catalog record for the item. When searching for Irish genealogy resources on ANSWER, use the following keywords to retrieve the greatest number of citations:

• ireland emigrants
• ireland cemeteries
• ireland atlas
• ireland handbooks
• irish americans genealogy
• ireland heraldry

Adding a geographic location will allow you to narrow your search. For example, ireland genealogy and ulster will retrieve Irish resources that focus on the city of Ulster. When searching by keyword, it is not necessary to capitalize proper nouns.

This publication is not intended as a comprehensive list of Irish genealogy resources; rather, it is a list of notable genealogy materials available at the Library of Michigan. Searching ANSWER is the only way to determine if the Library of Michigan holds the resources that you seek.
