The Library of Michigan maintains a large collection of Michigan Documents, state and legislative publications that may be useful to researchers interested in Michigan history and genealogy. The documents in this collection contain unique historical statistics, analyses and reports that may provide valuable genealogical information. Michigan Documents also may contain personal information regarding ancestors that worked with or performed a service for the State of Michigan.

When searching for Michigan Documents resources on ANSWER, use the following keywords to retrieve the greatest number of citations:
Adding a type of document such as report, bulletin or analysis will allow you to narrow your search. For example, michigan railroads commission and report will retrieve the annual reports of the Michigan Railroad Commission. When searching by keyword, it is not necessary to capitalize proper nouns.
