Performance Reporting is focused on the development and implementation of the State Performance Plan (SPP), other federal and state data reporting, technical assistance and personnel development to ISDs, Regional Education Service Agencies (RESAs), Local Education Agencies (LEAs), and other stakeholder groups in order to improve the performance of students with disabilities.
The primary functions of Performance Reporting are to:

Coordinate the collection, reporting, and validation of special education students and personnel data for required federal reports;

Produce required federal reports and data tables;

Produce reports for special education stakeholders regarding system improvements;

Coordinate functions and activities within the structure of SPP, including the use of multi-source data for performance assessments of state, intermediate and local school district special education of early intervention services;

Coordinate the development of new activities and products as identified through continuous improvement planning;

Provide programmatic support to IDEA Mandated Activities;

Develop technical assistance models and provide technical assistance to high priority schools and districts; and
Sources of Financing
Federal funding is appropriated through the IDEA:

Part B for administration and federal requirements, grants, and special education services;

Section 619 for preschool special education administration, federal requirements, and services; and

Part D for state improvement strategies and other discretionary initiatives.
State funding is appropriated through the state aid act and the department appropriations bill. As of 2002, federal funds are appropriated in the state school aid act.
