• Michigan Schools "Beating the Odds"

There are real success stories taking place in Michigan schools that are considered by some to have traditional barriers to academic achievement. Michigan identifies over 100 schools each for finding ways to overcome many of the identifiable risk factors to low student achievement, such as low economic status, race and ethnicity, or proficiency with the English language. These schools are known as "Beating the Odds Schools" and are a special subset of Reward Schools recognized annually.
