Student Government Programs

Through the United States Senate Youth Program, sponsored by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation, two Michigan students are selected as delegates to spend a week in Washington D.C. observing the federal government in action and interacting with student delegates form all over the United States. For more information, students should contact their high school guidance counselors, or the Michigan Department of Education, by telephone at 517-335-3678.

Youth in Government Program

• Youth in Government ProgramThe Youth in Government Program, sponsored by the Michigan YMCA, educates students in leadership and the democratic process. Selected students in grades nine through twelve act in state governmental roles for mock sessions in the legislative, executive and judicial systems.
