State Superintendent Mike Flanagan spoke this week at the Governor's Education Summit, where he addressed the state's application for Round Two of the federal Race to the Top competition. The U.S. Department of Education provided Michigan with valuable feedback on its first application. The Round One application had many areas in which Michigan was the best, and other areas where the application needed to be more thoughtful. Flanagan has assembled working groups, consisting of all of the education stakeholders, to put together this renewed application.
