Validation Reviews

The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is required to conduct Validation Reviews of the performance-based reimbursement (6 cent certification) set forth in the interim rule entitled, Certification of Compliance with Meal Requirements for the National School Lunch Program under the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.  The Validation Review includes a comprehensive on-site evaluation to ensure the meal service is in compliance with the updated meal pattern and is consistent with the menu/documentation on which certification was based.
