Answers

What are the Pathways to Potential communities targeted through Race to the Top?

The seven original Pathways to Potential target communities are Flint, Pontiac, Saginaw, Detroit, Muskegon, Warren, and Kalamazoo. There are several initiatives that mention an additional rural location, but that location has yet to be determined.

Where can I find more information on Quality Improvement Grants for licensed providers?

The Early Childhood Investment Cooperation (ECIC) is working through the eligibility criteria in collaboration with the Office of Great Start, and, once eligibility criteria are formalized, then the local Great Start to Quality resource centers will have information about the process.

What incentives are available for providers?

The two incentives planned to support different parts of participation in Great Start to Quality are the participation bonus and the quality improvement grant. Both of those incentives will have eligibility criteria that include targeting programs and providers who accept children who are eligible for the Child Development and Care subsidy. Look for more information about both of those incentives in the coming months.
